Andrzej Zieliński paints technological devices that most of us interface on a daily basis such as cell-phones, laptops, ATM’s and Paper Shredders.
Much has been made of the impact of digital technology on traditional modes of art making and Zieliński’s lovely painted machines exist in a world of their own, with thick protruding paint and thin veils of color with eccentric distortions. His compositions disorient the viewer by toying with both actual and perceived space while his surfaces are the opposite of beige plastic and cold metal. Zieliński’s paintings explore the relationship between humans and their tools.
